Integrative Therapy

I am an experienced Integrative Therapist, trained in a number of effective and evidence-based disciplines and approaches including counselling, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) also known as ‘tapping’ (see below for more details). I offer a safe confidential space for you to explore anything that is keeping you stuck, causing you distress, or preventing you from living your life fully. You may not know why you are feeling as you are, you only need to know how it is showing up in your life today. I have a strong background working with people who have experience trauma as well as those involved in the criminal justice system (both perpetrators and victims of crime).

My approach is person-centred and trauma-informed. I work with adults and young people. Sessions are offered online or in-person at my practice in SW France (24).

Emotional Freedom Techniques

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is a meridian energy therapy better known as ‘tapping’. Described by Gary Craig who developed EFT as a “form of emotional acupuncture, except we don’t use needles!”

It is highly effective for addressing limiting physical, emotional and psychological symptoms that are preventing you from living life as fully as you would like.

EFT is a combination of a talking therapy and energy work (the ‘tapping’), it can be incorporated into either a therapeutic counselling session or a non-therapeutic coaching session.

In the sessions we will work together to address and overcome the symptoms of concern. You will also be given the tools you need to manage the symptoms yourself between sessions. You do not need to know the root cause of any symptoms just how it is showing-up today and causing a blockage, distress, or pain.

The first session includes an assessment (not a diagnosis) and an opportunity to experience EFT after which you will know whether this approach is for you. Depending on the issue it may be possible to address it in just a few sessions but for others it takes be a longer process.

EFT does not diagnose conditions and can be integrated with other approaches including conventional, alternative, and complimentary medicines. EFT can be used to address and manage a broad range of symptoms and conditions including (but not limited to):

  • Addiction
  • Anger
  • Anxiety
  • Emotional health conditions
  • Cancer treatment and recovery
  • Compulsive behaviour
